A new design sees Colin Farrell get an accurate costume to play the Penguin in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
As production on The Batman continues to power through the disruption from the ongoing pandemic, a new design shows off Colin Farrell getting a classic look to play the Penguin in the Robert Pattinson film. The most recent photos from the production showed off the new sprawling set being built by the crew, with a spotlight on the practical Batcave set for the vigilante. But fans are keen to see more from Colin Farrell as the Penguin since the prosthetics he’s wearing in the film have radically changed his appearance.
When Matt Reeves debuted the first trailer for the film at DC FanDome, many fans weren’t even sure that it showed Colin Farrell as the Penguin because the facial prosthetics masked his face in such a different way. The recent set photos from Liverpool in the United Kingdom offered a better look at the star in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, although his costume just seemed to fit in with the other gangsters like Carmine Falcone instead of leaning into the villain’s comic book look. A new design from Mizuriau on Instagram puts the actor in Oswald Cobblepot’s typical costume, complete with that iconic monocle. Take a look at Colin Farrell as the penguin in The Batman below.
What do you make of the design? Do you want to see a faithful look for the Penguin in The Batman? How do you think Colin Farrell will play into the film? Sound-off in the comments below!
The plot of The Batman is being kept a closely guarded secret, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as Gotham City’s Dark Knight. The Batman will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films starring Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, Robert Pattinson stars as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Colin Farrell, Penguin and Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
