In the fashion of several of the company’s announcements this year, Nintendo surprised us all recently with the announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity — a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild prequel in the Musou mould that’s now available on Nintendo Switch.
A collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo (who made the previous Hyrule Warriors), this new game is set 100 years before Breath of the Wild and shows the destruction wrought by the Great Calamity on the kingdom of Hyrule, detailing the events that led to hero Link being put to sleep for a century.
