With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gearing up to start production in the United Kingdom, the working title for the sequel starring Benedict Cumberbatch has been revealed thanks to Production Weekly. The star is currently in Atlanta on the set of Spider-Man 3 where Stephen Strange will have a role in the Tom Holland film as a mentor to Peter Parker. But once he’s done in the states it’ll be a trip over the pond to start working on the Doctor Strange sequel with legendary Evil Dead director Sam Raimi.

According to Production Weekly, the Doctor Strange sequel is working under Stellar Vortex, which definitely fits the cosmic and mystic nature of the hero. Also appearing in the film is Elizabeth Olsen, reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff after the WandaVision series leads into the Benedict Cumberbatch sequel. It’ll be interesting to see if the Sorcerer Supreme has to fight Scarlet Witch or if she’ll be the catalyst behind the Multiverse of Madness.

What do you make of the Stellar Vortex title? Are you excited to see how Doctor Strange 2 fits into (or changes) the MCU? What do you want to see from Benedict Cumberbatch in the sequel? Sound-off in the comments below!

Details on Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness are currently limited, though it is said to feature horror elements. Furthermore, the Disney Plus mini-series WandaVision will also serve as the lead-in to the sequel. Scott Derrickson is still attached to the film as an executive producer, with Sam Raimi set to direct from a script written by Michael Waldron. The sequel will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, and Elizabeth Olsen.
