In Wilamaya Patjxaan archaeological site in southern Peru, archaeologists discovered the skeleton of a young lady whose individuals buried her having a seekers’ toolkit, such as projectile points. The Locate motivated University of California Davis archaeologist Randall Haas and his colleagues to have a close look at additional Pleistocene and early Holocene hunters from across the Americas.
Their results might indicate that female predators were not as uncommon as we believed. And that, then, reminds us that sex roles have not always been the exact same in each culture.

“The items that follow [individuals ] in passing are inclined to be people who followed them in existence,” Haas and his colleagues wrote. And if one young lady died 9,000 decades back in what is now southern Peru, her folks buried with six rock spear hints of a kind employed in searching large prey such as deer and vicuña (a relative of their alpaca). The things appear to have been sprinkled alongside a stone knife, sharp rock flakes, scratching tools, and ocher for flea bites.
