Solo Star Wars Ron HowardSolo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard has recently shared that the love for the film is “bonding well” for a potential continuation in the future.

Everyone is well aware that Solo: A Star Wars Story didn’t do as well at the box office as Disney hoped, but that hasn’t stopped many fans from wanting to see more adventures of Chewie and Han. Unlike Rogue One, Solo left the door open for a few different storylines that could be continued in some fashion. There have also been plenty of rumors online about a Disney Plus series centered on Donald Glover’s Lando and Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra.

On a recent episode of Lights Camera Barstool, Ron Howard responded to the desire from many fans to see a continuation of Solo: A Star Wars Story and even alluded to seeing a spin-off of sorts down the line, but reaffirmed that there were no plans for a movie or Disney Plus series:

“No rumblings, though, and this is not a spoiler or anything, but I think there is interest in those characters. I think there’s interest in the gangster world somewhere down the line. But I can assure you there is nothing being developed right now for a movie or Disney+. But, one great thing is there has been a lot of affection shown for Solo, and so of course that keeps boding well for them to eventually turn it around.”
