I am a Michigander who is consistently voted Republican. However, the President has neglected us

This season struck me like a ton of bricks. I recall watching the information for a virus in China and about cruise ships believing,”Wow, that is dreadful,” and never thinking it might come to Michigan. I understood that Michigan could be significant in this year’s presidential elections –we’re a swing state –but did not realize what effect COVID-19 could have in my voting choices.

I grew up in Kalamazoo and also spent my summers on Lake Michigan. That is the place I discovered the worth of hard labour and the value of family. Now, I am a single mother living just out Kalamazoo with my teenaged son and son. I like it, there is no other place I would like to raise my children.

However, it’s no secret that it was a tough year; grabbing us off guard,” included. I am a realtor, handling my own little enterprise. Following a very powerful 2019 and continued to cultivate my company into ancient 2020, the stunt struck and I needed to apply for unemployment. Not having the ability to venture out and reveal homes for many months only murdered my organization.

I managed to feed my children and pay statements without dipping in my reservations a lot of. Now, however, while the marketplace appears alluring, home sellers and buyers are reluctant to make decisions if they do not understand what the future can hold. Uncertainty is bad news for the market –particularly if you’re a real estate {} so things simply are not back to”normal” And they may never be.

The extra $600 in unemployment has run out, though the market is not right back to where it had been earlier, and I am feeling it. I’ve got some savings, but it is becoming tighter and tighter every month and I am increasingly stressed. I understand I am not the only person who’s concerned. Both small and huge companies are final because they are not receiving support from the national authorities. That is just wrong.

All this led me personally to become involved with a company known as WorkMoney that began through the pandemic to assist working individuals urge for ourselves. I replied an Facebook article and also signed a request, that led to many discussions regarding pandemic support for people like me and the best way to advocate for matters like extra stimulation funds out of our elected officials. It helped me to find my own voice, which I am using today to need for my loved ones and my neighborhood in Southern Michigan.

Let us face it: On the federal level, our leaders have neglected middle-class, hard-working folks like me. Congress can not get it with all the stimulus package, particularly after President Trump continued talks and subsequently sent mixed signals about possible laws. What’s?

There are individuals who charge Trump having a solid market, and that I was among these. However, this pandemic was so horribly wracking, even if his government knew back in January how bad things can get. When there have been a couple of barreling toward Kalamazoo along with also our community authorities did nothing to notify citizens, we would be biased. We ought to be likewise biased here that over 225,000 lives are dropped, so many companies have closed, and Americans of all backgrounds are still affected. Along with also the President failed to frighten us adequately prepare.

That is what is forcing me to vote this season and also be much more busy than I have previously. I had been raised Catholic and that I have conservative principles that align closely with Republicans entire. But I am not voting for Donald Trump that particular election.

A number of my family and friends are, and that is their decision. I {} themand they love me, however, I can not vote for one more year like this. My children and I want something different.

Currently there’s a brand new expression:”We can not say we lived through the storm of’78 anymore, since 2020 trumps everything.”

We’ll get through this season, and we are going to be stronger for this. But it is going to take courage, dedication, and everybody doing their job to construct a bright future for Michigan and our country.
