Following 20 Decades of Support, the Space Station flies to an Unclear future

The Cold War was concluded for under a decade after NASA astronaut Bill Shepherd and two Russian cosmonauts, Sergei Krikalev and Yuri Gidzenko, put themselves into a Soyuz spacecraft and smashed into orbit Halloween, 20 decades back.

Two days after their little spacecraft docked with the International Space Station, then a portion of the size it’s today. Their arrival could herald the start of what has become 20 decades of continuous habitation of their lab which NASA, leading to an global venture, would still continue to assemble for a different decade.

Made of a desire to smooth geopolitical tensions in the wake of the excellent battle between the USA and Soviet Union, the space station venture includes more or less succeeded–the channel has remained occupied despite the shuttle Columbia tragedy at 2003, and after that almost a decade old no more US space transport . NASA, Roscosmos, along with the Japanese, European, and Canadian partners are able to rely upon one another.
