Employees in the Nazca Lines website lately discovered that the faded, partly eroded overview of a cat extending across a desert hillside.
The cat combines the ever-growing collection of roughly 900 contours and graphics that prehistoric people etched in the Nazca Desert land. In 37 meters (121 feet) long, the feline is one of the more compact geoglyphs from the desert; a few of the biggest shapesdown to the level valley floor, length over 500 meters (1,600 ft ). As with other geoglyphs at the Nazca Desert, the kitty’s ancient artists piled it to the floor by clearing out the darkened surface sediment to make pale lines.
Geoglyph finds normally take weeks of hiking through the desert or poring over aerial pictures, but the newest one was a happy accident. Employees were making improvements into a course resulting in a hilltop vantage point if they detected that the cat.
