Gal Gadot Wonder Woman 1984Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins opened up about whether the film will get hit by further delays.

Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins is just as eager as fans for the film to get a theatrical release, but when speaking to Variety she confessed that because of the ongoing pandemic it’s impossible to be confident about anything releasing on time. The director recently opened up about the possibility of the Gal Gadot film going straight to streaming and revealed that it isn’t an option the studio will consider.

“I don’t think anybody can be confident of anything right now. We just don’t know what the course of COVID is going to be like.

When Wonder Woman 1984 does eventually arrive, fans will get to see just how dastardly Pedro Pascal can be, and the director also opened up about her decision to cast the actor – explaining that he’s an unexpected choice. Patty Jenkins did mention how the film arriving on December 25 “feels totally possible to me,” but also expressed how frustrating the ongoing delays are from an industry perspective. She pointed out that she spent three years making the film without being able to deliver it to audiences. Take a look below.

“It’s unbelievably surreal. The biggest surreality about it is it’s supposed to be one adventure, right? You sign on to the movie, you write the movie, you direct the movie, you make the movie, the movie comes out, and you move on. Instead, like, I spent three years doing one thing, seven days a week, and then I just popped out of it to just nothing. No evidence of that [work].”

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
