Many stars are returning to the DC Extended Universe like Ben Affleck and Ezra Miller, but one star who hasn’t been officially confirmed to be a part of a future project is Henry Cavill (even though we will see new scenes of him in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut). There have been reports that Cavill will appear in several upcoming DC films, but a solo Superman film doesn’t appear to be in the works at the moment.

Many fans are eager to see Henry Cavill’s Superman return in some capacity given how much source material there is to adapt. One storyline in particular that we have seen on the television side loosely with Brandon Routh’s Superman is Kingdom Come. Mark Waid and Alex Ross’ Kingdom Come is among the most celebrated stories in the DC multiverse, which sees an older Superman and other members of the Justice League. Since we might be waiting a while until Cavill becomes Superman once again, here is some awesome fan art on Instagram from digital artist Javier Sanchez that imagines him with the Kingdom Come look.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cut is set to hit HBO Max in 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood regarding all the latest news on the future of Henry Cavill as Superman and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more exclusive video content!
