Console hackers Are Somewhat shocked Following DOJ arrests Dominant mod-chip Manufacturers

Anybody that follows the console-hacking scene is now utilized to the familiar tales of lawful attempts to put a halt to the clinic. Companies like Nintendo often take advantage of court orders, stop and desist letters, along with civil lawsuits to prevent the supply of match ROMs and/or apparatus that allow people ROMs (along with homebrew applications ) to run on their own gear.

However, a few members of this console-hacking community voiced surprise in the current arrests of Gary”GaryOPA” Bowser, Max”MAXiMiLiEN” Louarn, also Yuanning”100+1″ Chen, members of the infamous Team Xecuter hacking team (aka TX).

Even the 38-page indictment, announced Friday from the Department of Justice, conducts a laundry list of Team Xecuter’s alleged offenses, principal among them designing and promoting an assortment of products”made to function as circumvention devices that were the intent of enabling users to perform pirated ROMs.”
