SpaceX Starlink is supplying Internet access to Washington State crisis responders in regions ravaged by wildfires. The team has set seven Starlink consumer terminals (i.e. satellite dishes) because it started using the support from early August, since CNBC reported yesterday:

“I have not put up any strategic satellite gear which was {} to establish, and everywhere near as trusted” since Starlink, Richard Hall, the crisis telecommunications pioneer of the Washington State Military Department’s IT branch, told CNBC in an interview Monday.

The broadband support has assisted both emergency responders and households in wildfire-stricken locations. Hall”has established terminals in areas which were burned seriously to supply evacuated households using wireless calling and Web access to document insurance claims,” CNBC wrote. Hall stated he”did installation to permit children to perform some of the first schooling”

Hall stated Starlink has”readily double[d] the bandwidth” in comparison to conventional satellite broadband and always supplies latency of less than 30ms.
