Slipknot singer Corey Taylor says he doesn’t trust anyone on his pummeling solo track “Culture Head,” which will appear on his upcoming debut solo album, CMFT.
“I don’t trust anyone… who uses God as an excuse/ I don’t trust anyone… so f–k you, and anyone who looks like you/ I can’t shake, shake shake this sudden feeling you’re a fake, fake fake,” Taylor bellows on the track, in which he is a righteous voice shouting into the cultural void.
The new song is the fourth track Taylor has previewed from the album (Oct. 2), following on the heels of “CMFT Must Be Stopped,” “Black Eyes Blue” and “HWY 666.” While he can’t hit the road to celebrate the album’s release, the singer will headline a livestream show called “Forum or Against ‘Em” from The Forum in Los Angeles on Oct. 2.
In August, the Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman scored two solo entries on the Hot Hard Rock Songs survey, with “CMFT Must Be Stopped” debuting at No. 11 and “Black Eyes Blue” jumping up to No. 13 on the chart dated Aug. 15.
