Smashing Pumpkins Set Release Date For Sprawling New Album ‘CYR’

The Smashing Pumpkins are doubling up to CYR, their sprawling brand new album that currently has a launch date along with a tracklist.

Stretching across 20 monitors, CYR is going to be the group’s very first double-album because the legendary Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness out of 1995.

Cut into Chicago, CYR may include the previously-released name track and “The Colour Of Love,” and has been made by frontman Billy Corgan along with bandmates James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin along with guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

Also announced today, the rockers have launched the trailer and information to their forthcoming five-part animated show, In Ashes. It is the brainchild of Corgan and revived by Deep Sky.

The first two episodes, As The Crow Flies along with Inspirations, Aspirations, will broadcast Sept. 25, and another fresh fall of music in the record.

Sumerian Records will launch CYR, the group’s eleventh studio album.  It’s also the follow up to 2018s Rick Rubin-produced LP Shiny And So Intelligent, Vol. 1 / LP: Without Past. No Future. No more Sun.
