Tom Holland recently had quite an exciting way to describe Spider-Man 3.
Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be one of the biggest superhero movies of all-time with a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx and possibly even former Peter Parker actors Andrew Garifled and Toby Maguire. During a recent interview, Spider-Man 3 star Tom Holland teased the film’s ambitious scope and its script.
While doing the press rounds for the upcoming Apple TV Plus film Cherry, Tom Holland spoke with Variety about his return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3. While he couldn’t reveal much, Holland did say that he believes Spider-Man 3 is “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made.” Here’s the full quote:
“I can say that it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made. You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding. It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it. And I’m just, you know, again, that lucky little shit who happens to be Spider-Man in it. We got a lot more shooting to do. We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks. We stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again. I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.”
The yet-to-be titled Spider-Man 3 is expected to pick up right after the events of its predecessor Far From Home, which ended with J. Jonah Jameson and Mysterio revealing the wall-crawler’s secret identity to the world. Holland recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the highly-anticipated movie and called a recent day on set a “career highlight.”

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.
