A new design pictures The Boys actor Antony Starr leave the Amazon series behind to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Comic book fans might be used to seeing Antony Starr as the devilishly entertaining Homelander in Amazon’s The Boys, but a new image sees the actor don the Wolverine costume to replace Hugh Jackman. As most fans know, Marvel Studios now have the rights to use the X-Men characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although Kevin Feige was quick to shoot down the rumors that casting for Wolverine had begun.
The new fan art from ‘skull101ify’ on Instagram sees Antony Starr step out of his red white and blue costume for The Boys and into a reimagined version Wolverine’s classic yellow and black look from the Ultimate era in the comics. In an interview ahead of The Boys season two, Starr even confessed that he’d love to play Wolverine on the big screen, but was careful to praise Hugh Jackman’s work in the role. Take a look at Antony Starr as Wolverine below.
What do you make of the fan art? Would you like to see Antony Starr replace Hugh Jackman? Or do you think he’s better off staying in The Boys? Which other superhero roles would you like to see Antony Starr get a shot at? Sound-off in the comments below!
