Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson revealed that director Taika Waititi has some fun plans for the film’s soundtrack.
Thor: Love and Thunder is shaping up to be one of the bigger event movies in the next wave of releases from Marvel Studios, and has even been compared to something like Avengers 5. Tessa Thompson recently spoke to MTV News ahead of her role in Sylvie’s Love as well as returning to play Valkyrie in the Thor sequel. When asked if the Asgardian King will find love in the film, Thompson explained that they’re “not mutually exclusive” before going on to reveal what else fans can expect from the sequel.
“There’s both! They’re not mutually exclusive. She likes kind of the thunderous love.”
Tessa Thompson opened up about working with Taika Waititi, saying that the director updates her on how pre-production is going on the film, since she’s due to fly to Australia in a few weeks. Thompson then praised the script as well as the soundtrack for the sequel. Thor: Ragnarok made excellent use of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, and it seems like the Thor: Love and Thunder soundtrack will include some equally impressive musical cues as Thompson said the film has some “fun in the music department.”
“I’ve started [working on the film], it’s really really really fun. It’s very very very good. I’m really excited. I fly to Australia in a couple weeks, and folks are already there and on the ground. I get very funny videos from Taika [Waititi] and photographs updating me. It’s a great script. It’s going to be really fun. It’s very fun in the music department. It’s a good one, I’m thrilled.”
