New set photos from Thor: Love and Thunder tease a flashback with Natalie Portman.
Taika Waititi returns to direct the fourth entry in the God of Thunder’s film series, which will feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as the titular Avenger as well as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who hasn’t been seen since Thor: The Dark World. While principal photography concluded earlier this year, it appears that reshoots on Love and Thunder may be underway.
New set photos from Thor: Love and Thunder appear to show Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman donning wigs that look similar to their hairstyles from a deleted scene from The Dark World:
Both Thor and Jane Foster canonically broke up sometime between the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ragnarok. It will be interesting to see a flashback scene with Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, given that the reason for their breakup is unknown, and will likely be explored in Love and Thunder.
Full details on the plot for Love and Thunder are currently being kept under lock and key. The Marvel Studios film is said to be partly based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, with Jane Foster becoming the new Thor.
Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also on board.
