Batwoman star Camrus Johnson has commented on the allegations brought forth by his former co-star Ruby Rose.
Yesterday, former Batwoman lead star Ruby Rose released a lengthy statement on her Instagram that labeled the production as extremely toxic. She cited numerous complaints against The CW series’ executives, mentioned how the production was physically unsafe and called out cast and crew members for their behavior. On the casting side, the former Kate Kane particularly called out Dougray Scott for yelling at cast and crew members and labeled Camrus Johnson as “an egomaniac kid.” Rose also stated that she didn’t quit the show on her violation.
Now, her former co-star Camrus Johnson, who plays Luke Fox in the series, has responded to Ruby Rose’s scathing allegations on Twitter. In his statement on Twitter, Johnson discussed how Rose was indeed fired and called out how difficult it must be for a lead star to get fired from their own show.
Warner Bros. released a statement yesterday that discredited Ruby Rose’s allegations against the cast, crew, and executives working on the show.
“Despite the revisionist history that Ruby Rose is now sharing online aimed at the producers, the cast and crew, the network, and the Studio, the truth is that Warner Bros. Television had decided not to exercise its option to engage Ruby for season two of Batwoman based on multiple complaints about workplace behavior that were extensively reviewed and handled privately out of respect for all concerned,”
It’s unclear who exactly is in the right here. Some of Ruby Rose’s allegations are a bit strong, with one being that she witnessed someone’s face getting third-degree burns. Dougray Scott, a former co-star who was blasted by Rose for yelling at people has not released a statement in the wake of the allegations. It’s unclear if the conflict between Ruby Rose and the Batwoman team will escalate.
Here’s the description for the next episode of Batwoman season three:
“LEFT OUT IN THE COLD – An unfortunate incident in downtown Gotham alerts Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) and the Bat Team that another missing trophy has made its way into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, a new member of the Jet family surfaces when Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan) makes a not-so-subtle entrance, interrupting a very personal moment between Ryan and Jada (Robin Givens). Back on the streets, cryogenics is the name of the game and Sophie (Meagan Tandy) reminds everyone she’s a badass, especially in the middle of life-threatening situations. Batwing (Camrus Johnson) must decide if he’s ready to suit up again, and at Mary’s (Nicole Kang) clinic, the Hippocratic Oath forces a strained sisterly moment between Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and the new doc. Greg Beeman directed the episode written by Nancy Kiu.”
The CW series stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Victoria Cartagena, Robin Givens, and Nick Creegan.
