Charlie Cox Says Potential Daredevil Return Could Be A ‘Reimagining’

Charlie Cox once again addressed the rumors of him coming back as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is rumored to feature a slew of characters and one of them is Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The widely spread rumor about Daredevil is that Charlie Cox will appear in the film as a new version of Matt Murdock to help out Peter Parker.

There has been no confirmation from Sony that Charlie Cox will be back as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, Cox said something very interesting during an interview with The Pop Culture Spotlight in line with what has been rumored:

“If there was an opportunity for me to come back as Daredevil, whatever that would look like, I imagine it would be a reimagining of the character and the show. If they choose me to do it, there are going to be some elements that are of course the same. Or they might choose someone else and reboot it all over again…You’ve got to be careful what you wish for. You come back and it’s not as good or it doesn’t quite work or it’s too much time has passed. It doesn’t quite come together in the same way. You don’t want to taint what you’ve already got. If we never come back, you’ve got these three great seasons and our third season was our best reviewed. So, the trajectory was up. I am tremendously proud and grateful for what we have.”

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J.B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Tony Revolori and J.K. Simmons.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently set to be released on December 17, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Daredevil and the rest of the MCU. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
