The long-awaited second trailer for Matt Reeves’ upcoming film The Batman capped off DC FanDome 2021, and naturally, the entire internet erupted in excitement. Fans obsessed over each and every shot, and so far, the consensus seems to be universal acclaim from what we have seen from the promotional material. One of the many people singing the trailer’s praises is none other than Justice League director Zack Snyder.
Zack Snyder, who is no stranger to the Caped Crusader given his work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League shared his initial reaction to the new trailer for The Batman. He directly mentioned Matt Reeves and praised the filmmaker on Twitter for his bold new approach for the Dark Knight on the big screen:
Matt Reeves responded to Zack Snyder’s praises of The Batman trailer as follows:
Zack Snyder was not the only filmmaker with DC Films history to express their excitement over the newest trailer for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. James Gunn, writer/director of The Suicide Squad and creator of the upcoming HBO Max series Peacemaker responded to the trailer with a simple emoji:
Whether you are Zack Snyder or James Gunn, just about everyone seems to be stoked about Matt Reeves’ The Batman. With a little under five months away from its release, the film cannot hit theaters any faster. And if the response is any indication, Warner Bros. should be pretty encouraged once March rolls along.
The plot of The Batman is being kept under lock and key, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The film will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding the upcoming DC film, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
