Dwayne Johnson has opened up about his feud with Fast And Furious co-star Vin Diesel and the Instagram post that started it all, admitting it wasn’t his best moment.
Several years ago, Dwayne Johnson put a post up on Instagram that praised his female co-stars in the Fast And Furious films but questioned the professionalism of some of the series male actors. It didn’t take long for people to put the pieces together realize that Vin Diesel was the primary target of this post. The behind-the-scenes tension resulted in Johnson and Diesel effectively refusing to share scenes with one another during the production of Fate of the Furious with the former departing the main series altogether with Jason Statham for the spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw.
In the years since both actors have, at the very least, seemed willing to bury the hatchet even if neither one of them is willing to fully admit that they were in the wrong. Earlier this year, Vin Diesel spoke out on his side of the feud where he seemingly theorized that it came from pushing Dwayne Johnson too hard. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, spoke about the feud, where it came from, and how he regrets posting it in the first place:
“I meant what I said. For sure. I mean what I say when I say it. But to express it publicly was not the right thing to do.
It caused a firestorm. Yet interestingly enough … [it was] as if every single crew member found their way to me and either quietly thanked me or sent me a note. But, yeah, it wasn’t my best day, sharing that. I shouldn’t have shared that. Because at the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don’t share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bullshit away from the public. They don’t need to know that. That’s why I say it wasn’t my best day.”
