Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins revealed that the upcoming DC film will have a post-credits scene for its theatrical and HBO Max release.
After several delays, Wonder Woman 1984 will finally be seen by audiences as Warner Bros. plans to release the film in select theaters and on HBO Max in the coming weeks. Reactions from those who have already seen Wonder Woman 1984 have been released and it seems the upcoming feature will continue DC’s recent success on the film side.
DC films aren’t known for having post-credits scenes like Marvel Studios, but recent films like Justice Leauge, Aquaman, and Shazam! have started to make it more common. The first Wonder Woman film didn’t feature a tag at the end, but director Patty Jenkins shared in a recent interview with CinemaBlend that its sequel will. Jenkins also explained why the Wonder Woman 1984 post-credits scene wasn’t shown to critics:
“Let that be something to save for the audience. Just because, God forbid, somebody writes about it, you’re like, ‘Well, then what fun was it? Now we should have just attached it to the end of the movie!”
