It’s no surprise that UK band Kero Kero Bonito is really into video games — after all, they did the Bugsnax theme song. But their latest music video, for a song called “rom com 2021” recorded with American singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy, pulls inspiration from everyone’s favourite avatar: Nintendo’s Mii.
The music video has a distinctly retro aesthetic, with the Miis exploring a low-poly Katamari-like world until glitches make everything go all weird, and… is that Richard the dog from Ocarina of Time?
