Four new clips from Venom: Let There Be Carnage have been released that tease Cletus Kasady, Shriek, and Detective Mulligan.
After months of waiting and tons of delays, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to kick off the Fall movie season this October. Early buzz for the Andy Serkis-directed sequel has been wholly positive, with many praising Eddie Brock’s increasingly complex friendship with Venom and Woody Harrelson’s performance as Cletus Kasady. Kasady, of course, becomes the host for the nefarious, blood-red symbiote Carnage.
To get excitement through the roof for Sony’s latest Marvel joint, four new clips have been released that put the focus on Cletus Kasady, Shriek, and Detective Mulligan. The clips are brief in nature, though they do a good job of setting up the new characters and getting us amped for the next Venom film.
While the first clip does a great job of showing the bickering friendship between Eddie Brock and Venom, it’s the third clip that has our attention. The sheer tension between Brock and Cletus Kasady is terrifying, and it’s interesting to see how Kasady is immediately against Brock. And while it’s great to see Shriek, it’s disappointing that she isn’t given much to do in the clip. Hopefully, her role is expanded in the full film.
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
Venom is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, while Let There Be Carnage will hit theaters on October 1. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the Venomverse, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
