Daredevil star Charlie Cox has debunked the theory that suggests his forearms are seen in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.
The first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer captured the internet’s pea-brain attention span the moment it dropped. The trailer was filled with key hints and explicitly reveals Alfred Molina returning as Doctor Octopus. While most of the conversation surrounding the trailer was focused on the potential of a live-action Spider-Verse, Daredevil fans were fixated on a particular scene that involved a pair of mystery forearms.
Rumors have suggested that Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While there hasn’t been any explicit confirmation, it’s hard not to deny the mounting evidence that suggests Daredevil will be officially joining the MCU. In the No Way Home trailer, a mysterious pair of forearms are seen slamming papers onto the desk where Peter Parker is being interrogated. Many are under the assumption that those forearms belong to Cox, but the Daredevil shot the theory down when he spoke to Comicbook.com.
“I can promise you those are not my forearms. I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”
The Daredevil star continued by discussing how it would be cool for his fellow Marvel Netflix costars to show up in the films, hinting that he would be interested in a supposed crossover.
“As a fan of the Marvel movies, I’ve loved the little stuff where they pop up here and there but because we were on Netflix, we weren’t able to do as much for legal reasons, I don’t know why. But I love the idea of Jessica and Matt showing up in the background or Matt as a lawyer advising Peter Parker. That’d be really, really cool.”
It would definitely be really, really cool. Only time will tell if Matt Murdock will actually show up in the latest Spider-Man film, though all signs currently do point to it.
Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:
“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”
Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J.B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Tony Revolori and J.K. Simmons.
