I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love nothing more than finding a beauty product that helps me live my best glowy and dewy life. Be it a highlighter, an SPF or a moisturiser, I’ll happily apply any product to my face to achieve luminosity. Thankfully, I now own several products that will make my skin more glowy and radiant than ever, and they’re currently waiting patiently on my skincare trolley for their moment to shine. Which products am I talking about? Serums, of course.
To be honest, there are so many serums on the market that it can be hard to know where to start. Many are formulated to target specific skincare concerns, so whether you want to reduce blemishes, moisturise dehydrated skin, or soothe sensitive skin, there’s a serum out there for you. And when incorporating serum into your skincare routine, make sure to apply it after your cleanser and toner but before your moisturiser. Your moisturiser creates a barrier that locks in all of the hard-working ingredients in your other products, and serums, especially, are full of active ingredients that you won’t want to lose.
Ahead, I’ve rounded up my very best serums for glowing skin, from luxury products to affordable options. Honestly, I swear by them all.
By Beauty Bay make the most amazing and affordable serums. The SkinHit Hydrating Serum is a personal favourite of mine. I use it when my skin needs a little hydration boost and, of course, a glow. It contains hyaluronic acid, which has major hydration and plumping benefits.
I kept seeing this serum all over my Instagram feed and finally decided it was time to see if it was worth the hype. Spoiler: It is. This serum gives the skin a luminous glow and doesn’t feel the slightest bit oily.
This is actually a booster oil that you can use on its own or add a few drops to your serum, moisturiser or balm of choice for a silky-smooth glow. It contains strawberry-seed oil, which is nourishing and helps the booster glide effortlessly over or under your other skincare products.
This serum is a new discovery for me. It contains three essential super-fruit extracts that target, condition, hydrate and improve the health and texture of the skin. Kem Beauty advises applying it to damp skin after using toner to ensure that it absorbs into the skin properly for a real lit-from-within glow.
This oil-serum hybrid is a key staple in my beauty routine due to the long-lasting glow it gives my skin. Instead of using it all over, I like to apply it to the high points of my face when I’m not wearing a ton of makeup. A little bit creates a subtle glow, but you can use more for an intensely dewy shine.
This superfood serum is infused with skin-nurturing ingredients—from cold-pressed tomato-seed oil to cold-pressed jojoba oil—to soothe and hydrate skin that might be suffering from irritation.
Simply put, Boots has created glow-in-a-bottle with this serum. It’s so hydrating and instantly leaves your skin brighter and refreshed. I’m currently on my second bottle and genuinely can’t imagine my life without it.
If you’re on the hunt for a glow-boosting vegan serum, then look no further than Sakrid’s Superfood Frenzy Organic Facial Serum. It’s packed with nutrients that help the skin look firmer and brighter.
First, let’s talk about how cute this serum’s packaging is. This lightweight formula brightens skin while tackling impurities. Plus, it’s enriched with antioxidant-rich blueberry and black tea to help detoxify skin, which is brilliant if you’re prone to congestion or breakouts.
I think I own just about every CeraVe product available, as I simply can’t get enough of this affordable brand. This gentle and lightweight serum is my favourite to use for a subtle glow when my skin is in need of some extra hydration. I love to use it before applying the brand’s moisturising lotion.
Cultured is a new beauty brand on the scene that’s all about encouraging healthy and stronger skin for all skin types. This balancing serum offers up hydrating, lifting and brightening benefits. It’s basically healthy skin in a bottle.
Wishful’s Thirst Trape Juice Serum (whose name I adore) is absolutely brimming with moisturising and hydrating ingredients like aloe vera and firming peptides to give your skin the ultimate dewy complexion. I can’t get enough of it.
Vitamin C is one of the best ingredients for a glow boost. This serum from Sunday Riley not only smells incredible but instantly brightens the appearance of dull-looking skin.
Superdrug’s Vitamin C Booster has had a firm place in my skincare routine for well over a year and continues to make my skin look better every time I use it. Just a few drops on the skin unveils intense moisture and glow.
Finally, this classic from Estée Lauder is perfect if you’re on the hunt for a luxurious, glow-boosting serum that truly works. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and really supports your skin’s moisture levels for a fresh, radiant and youthful look. I give it a 10. Up next, weird but true—doing this 5-minute ritual kind of changed the shape of my face.
