The concept of this new article series is simple: We love to get dressed, and we know that you can’t get enough new-season outfit inspiration, so we wanted to combine the two and bring you a weekly update of what my fellow editors and I have been wearing in our day-to-day lives. Now that our company no longer has a traditional 9-to-5 office set-up and, as a team, we are pretty spread out across the country (from East London to Sheffield), no one day looks the same for us. However, we each have found our own ways to adapt our personal wardrobes to this new normal.
From wedding guest looks and WFH pairings to elevated dinner separates or brunch-ready casual, we hope our outfit lineup brings you all the sartorial inspiration you could possibly need for the coming season. Each of our editors has their own unique sense of style—whether it’s my penchant for vintage or Nell’s utility chic—so there’s sure to be someone, or simply a single outfit, that sparks your interest.
We’ll continue to update this story as new outfits come in, so keep your eyes peeled, and please do send us what you’re wearing on Instagram or Twitter. So without further ado, I present to you the outfits our editors have loved wearing this month. Scroll down to see our looks.
“Last week, thanks to our beauty editor Mica (and the lovely team at Bali Body), I was treated to a press stay at the Nomad Hotel, and I used it as the perfect excuse to dress up. The sun was shining—a rarity this summer—so I threw on my favourite new dress from Rixo and paired it with an oversized blazer and square-toe flats. It felt like an outfit formula straight out of the Alexa Chung playbook, simultaneously practical enough to see me through the day yet polished enough for a work event.”
“I’ve come to rely upon easy co-ords like this when working from home and juggling a toddler, but it’s nice to have a moment where I can step outside, throw on some accessories and feel a bit more pulled-together without changing my whole outfit.”
“I went to my first big wedding at the weekend in what felt like a very long time. While I was excited at the prospect of dressing up, I also wasn’t really feeling any of the dress options I had to hand, so I opted for this dream vintage suit that I had found on Etsy the previous week. I had the trousers taken out slightly (seamstresses have magical powers), but otherwise it was the perfect fit. I just accessorised with platform heels—from M&S no less—my Wandler bag and a Gucci belt for full-on throwback vibes.”
“This old Mango trench coat is lightweight, so this is an autumn-ready outfit that feels appropriate for warmer days. I love how with these chunky boots (from M&S), a trench coat and my favourite high-summer dress can be worn on days when it’s not scorching.”
“This is probably as close as it gets to dressing up for me right now. At six months pregnant, I want to feel nicer than ever but want comfort, so a stretchy jumpsuit is ideal. I’m trying to avoid buying real maternity stuff, as I want to ensure longevity for my wardrobe after I’ve given birth. A great compromise, I’ve found, is shopping on sites such as Vinted to hunt down pieces that will fit my criteria and my growing bump.”
