Doctor Sivana actor Mark Strong says he knows “very little” about what’s ahead from David F. Sandberg in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods.
After the success of the first Shazam film, it always seemed likely that a sequel would be on the way. And after it was announced at DC FanDome earlier this year, fans were intrigued to see where the story, titled Fury of the Gods, would take Billy Batson and the rest of the family. Since the title implies they’ll be facing off against other deities, it’ll be interesting to see where Mark Strong’s Doctor Sivana plays into it, alongside Mister Mind of course.
When speaking to Collider, Mark Strong explained that although he had fun filming Shazam!, he’s still waiting to learn about his role in Fury of the Gods. The Kingsman and Kick-Ass star noted that the film has obviously been delayed thanks to the ongoing pandemic and the studio is waiting till it can be worked on safely before beginning production. But because he doesn’t know much about the sequel, there’s “very little” he can reveal about what might be ahead. Take a look below.
“I had such a great time on the first one and it turned out to be such a success. I’m just waiting to hear. I think the script is in development and they’re trying to get ready to do it. Obviously, it’s been interrupted by this pandemic, so things are on hold until such time as it can be filmed safely. At the moment, it’s all under wraps. I honestly know very little about it. It’s not that I don’t want to tell you anything about it. It’s just that I don’t actually know very much about it.”
