“Go left! No! Your other left!”
Trying to describe what you’re seeing to someone who cannot see it themselves has always been tricky. Operation: Tango puts this to the test in an asymmetric co-op spy game from Clever Plays Studio, now available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
In Operation: Tango, you and a partner play as one of two characters, the field agent Angel and the hacker Alistair, trying to work together and save the world. With exotic locations, intricate puzzles, and the task of bringing a cybercriminal to their knees, pairs are presented with a near-future world where they quickly must learn how to communicate with each other or fail the mission at hand.
Whether you are playing with a friend, loved one, or even a stranger, Operation: Tango can bring you closer together, even when you’re apart. If you struggle with communication though, your skills and relationship will be put to the test! Regardless of if you choose Hacker or Agent, you’ll have an equal part to play in helping you and your partner succeed. Balance is key in any asymmetric world, and Operation: Tango makes certain that both players feel like equal partners, not just a supporting character, with equally engaging tasks to complete.
Operation: Tango also has plenty of opportunities to have lighthearted fun with your partner. Hidden messages, emotes, and more keep the chances to have fun and laugh with, or at, your partner readily available.
Depending on your partner to succeed is paramount, and helping them achieve their task goals is just as important! Throughout the game, your communication needs continue to build as puzzles evolve and get more difficult. Reading all of the clues, asking what your partner needs, and keeping your objectives top of mind all help ensure you’re an all-star agent or a supreme hacker. Once you’ve completed your missions, switch it up and see what your partner was seeing! The gameplay experience is different for each character and the puzzles randomize to create a new experience.
With full cross play capabilities and a friend pass, you can be sure to play Operation: Tango with whomever you’d like, but make sure to choose your partner wisely to save the world! Don’t have a player two in mind? Join us on our Discord where we have matchmaking channels to team up with another player! Please note, you will need to have Xbox Live and internet access, as well as a working microphone, to play Operation: Tango.
