The Boys revealed Black Noir’s one weakness during season two and the actor behind the supe, Nathan Mitchell, addresses whether he made it out alive.
While many fans were hoping The Boys season two would fully unmask Black Noir at some point throughout the eight-episodes, the intimidating supe was instead pitted against Queen Maeve herself in a brutal fight that wrecked the Seven’s boardroom at Vought Tower. Black Noir star Nathan Mitchell spoke to ComicBook.com about the hero’s fate, since Maeve used his nut allergy to her advantage by force-feeding him an Almond Joy.
Basically, the way I would say it is Noir comes pretty close to death. Anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock is very serious and he took a strong dose of it and he had his EpiPen nearby and fought, whoever was able to get him and stabilize him. But he was this close.
So although Black Noir isn’t dead, he’s definitely out of action for a little while. It’ll be interesting to see how he works with Starlight going forward since he was trying to beat her to death before Queen Maeve jumped in. Nathan Mitchell confirmed that although the Almond Joy left the supe in bad shape, he’ll hopefully come back sooner rather than later. Although the actor didn’t open up about whether the hero will have a similar dramatic reveal like he does in The Boys comics from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Take a look at Mitchell’s comments below.
It’s a real thing for him. And in episode eight we see that he’s pretty knocked out. He’s pretty close to the… He’s essentially incapacitated. He’s not dead and hopefully he will come back before most think he will. But it definitely isn’t something to be take lightly.
What do you think about Black Noir in The Boys? Would you like to see Nathan Mitchell get a bigger role in season three? Should the series follow the comics with Black Noir’s real identity? Sound-off in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for the second season of The Boys:
The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Aya Cash, and Colby Minifie.
