Andrew Garfield has denied that he is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The plot of the Tom Holland starrer Spider-Man: No Way Home is shrouded in secrecy, but recent reports have claimed that the film features the return of the two previous live-action versions of Peter Parker played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. While the return of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro lent some credence to the reports, Garfield has now denied that he is in the highly-antiicpated movie.
During an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Andrew Garfield was asked about the reports linking him to Spider-Man: No Way Home. Garfield was quick to shut down the rumors of his involvement with the project, comparing the whole situation to the party game Mafia. Here are his comments on the matter:
“Dude, it’s f***ing hilarious to me, because it’s like — because I do have this Twitter account and I see like how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s like people freaking out about a thing. And I’m just like ‘guys… guys, guys, guys, like… I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say… I recommend that you chill… Listen, I can’t speak for anything else but for myself. Like, they might be doing something. But I ain’t got a call. … I did not get a call. Listen, I would have gotten a call by now, that’s all I’m saying.”
