Travis Scott to Make ‘Franchise’ Music Video Global Debut at Select IMAX Theaters

Giving a single the music video treatment is common, but giving that music video the silver screen treatment? Only Travis Scott can pull that off.

The Houston rapper partnered with IMAX to make the global debut of his “Franchise” music video Thursday (Sept. 24) at select theaters, where it won’t be so lowkey at the night showings (past 7 p.m. local time) of Christopher Nolan’s film Tenet. Scott recently recorded “The Plan” for Nolan’s movie.

Fans of La Flame can experience the accompanying visual for his upcoming single “Franchise,” which will drop Friday (Sept. 25) via Cactus Jack/Epic, with “powerful precision sound and the highest quality crystal-clear imagery on the biggest screens,” according to IMAX’s website. All participating theaters, which can be found here, will abide by local COVID-19 guidelines.

Nolan delivered a handwritten letter to Scott, who posted it on Twitter, about his anticipation for the world premiere of “Franchise” before the screening of his film. “Travis– Love the video (shot on film, no less!). I can’t wait to hear it on the IMAX speakers, and see those sheep stampede across the giant screen as part of a Travis/Tenet/Travis sandwich!” the legendary Oscar-winning filmmaker penned.

According to the “Franchise” CD promo single found on Scott’s webstore, Young Thug and M.I.A. are featured artists. A video that the Astroworld ruler posted on Twitter Wednesday (Sept. 23) reveals Thugger recording vocals alongside him, while the “Paper Planes” artist tagged both rappers in a video of herself listening to the track.
