Marvel Studios’ Loki and Warner Bros.’ The Suicide Squad have been named as IMDB’s most anticipated TV series and movie respectively.
To mark National Superhero Day (the most important holiday of the year, of course) IMDB released its list of the 10 most anticipated superhero movies that audiences are looking forward to seeing in theaters and on HBO Max. The results were decided through page views for each project. Unsurprisingly, The Suicide Squad topped the list of films. Since the Red Band trailer only offered a glimpse of the unhinged madness of the DC follow-up it’s fast become a tantalizing project. Take a look at the list of films below.
- The Suicide Squad
- Black Widow
- The Batman
- Spider-Man: No Way Home
- Thor: Love and Thunder
- Eternals
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
- Venom: Let There Be Carnage
- Black Adam
- The Flash
Meanwhile, IMDB also released the list of 10 most anticipated superhero shows – and Marvel really took the crown on this one, as all but one of the upcoming titles feature characters taken from the House of Ideas. The winner here though is the God of Mischief himself, Loki. There’s not long to wait until the show arrives on Disney Plus, as it starts airing on June 11. Take a look at the list topped by Loki below.
- Loki
- What If…?
- Hawkeye
- She-Hulk
- Marvel
- Moon Knight
- The Sandman
- Armor Wars
- M.O.D.O.K.
- Secret Invasion

You can check out the synopsis for the James Gunn film below.
Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.
Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie and Michael Rooker.
The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Loki and the DC Films project and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
