One Jacket 5 Ways: How I Wear This Joyful Item on Repeat

Buying items with longevity has always been of the utmost importance, but it’s especially important right now. This is why we hope that this new series will inspire you to re-wear more of your favourite items in your wardrobe. We ask different stylish women each month to show us five unique outfits that centre on a piece that’s important to them. It proves that a perfect purchase will always be chic, and we hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Now over to Jessica Rose Lambregts, who tells us about her current favourite vinyl black-and-white leather jacket and why it’s so joyful when paired with her colourful wardrobe.

I love a jacket—I do. My favourite kind is one with a classic silhouette in a bright colour, print or texture. I particularly love vinyl jackets, and they’re a huge staple for me. I find they really help to perk up my wardrobe. I recently bought this oversize colour-block jacket from & Other Stories, and I can’t stop wearing it. I love the bold, clean print and monochromatic colour scheme. Here, I’ve paired it with some of my favourite brightly coloured and patterned pieces from my wardrobe, proving an item doesn’t have to be minimalist to be versatile.

I’ve played on the checkerboard feel of the jacket, pairing it with these Monki checkerboard trousers, and added a touch of novelty with my favourite smiley tee by Free People and my lime-green bag from Who What Wear for a touch of citrus. I really love the touch of punk-pop that comes from this look.

Again with a slight variation on the checkerboard vibe, I’ve paired the jacket with a yellow gingham skirt and a super-cute graphic tee by Hundred Club. I think it has a really laid-back and flirty silhouette.

I am dying to wear this outfit out for happy hour in a city far, far away! This outfit is so feel-good to me. I love how the girly polka-dot top and cute jewellery (@thebeadedseries) paired with wide-leg jeans and the vinyl jacket come together to make my perfect kind of effortless and cool look.

I wanted to try to add a touch of femininity to such an oversize and masculine silhouette, so I’ve paired it with a blue strappy cami and a bright floral midi. I added a red lip, some white cowboy boots for good measure, and voilà!

I think this jacket lends itself well to a bit of a sporty vibe too. This look is 100% inspired by Mean Girls and is based around an oversize stripe polo shirt from Weekday. I’ve worn it with some amazing hot-pink flares by River Island for a really fun and comfy 2000s look.
