Enormous Elton John’Jewel Box’ into Feature Rarities, Obscure B-Sides, Deep Cuts

Elton John can launch the gigantic 8-CD Jewel Box set on Nov. 13, packed with rarities from 1965-1971, heavy cuts and vague B-sides. The 148-song collection, personally curated from the singer, will chronicle his ancient phases cooperating with lyricist Bernie Taupin, and has a hardcover publication in addition to comprehensive notes and track-by-track comment by John for both deep Cuts discs.

It’ll be available in 3 distinct vinyl variations (4LP, 3LP, 2LP) in addition to on electronic streaming and download solutions, together with all sound remastered at Abbey Road Studios from Grammy-winning dominating engineer Sean Magee. The formerly 1969 tune “Sing Me No Sad Song,” the very first flavor of the group, was published on Thursday (Sept. 17) and it gives an intriguing glimpse into John’s musical development. The rollicking track includes lyrical precursors of the 1984’s “Sad Songs (Say So Much) along with the 1976 struck “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. ”

“To delve back through each phase of my profession in this detail to Jewel Box is a complete joy. Hearing those long lost tracks , I think it is difficult to understand precisely how successful Bernie and I had been during the first days,” John states in an announcement.

“The music just poured from us, along with the group were just incredible from the studio. I {} to push ahead with what I do and also look to the future, however with no time throughout lockdown to accept stock and pull on these minutes out of my memory from every age was a pleasure. As a devout album collector, this job has really excited me, and that I couldn’t be much more happy with the amount of craft involved with this a closely curated, lovingly assembled boxset. I’m convinced my fans may probably appreciate it as far as I really have. ”
