VILLARD-DE-LANS, France (AP) — German riders Lennard Kamna won the very first Alpine stage of this Tour de France on Tuesday after withdrawing clear of several breakaway riders, also Primoz Roglic maintained the race chief yellow jersey. There was not any substantial shift in the overall standings before Wednesday’s colossal summit end in the hills since second-place Tadej Pogacar stayed 40 minutes behind Roglic. Pogacar, a 21-year-old Tour newcomer, will have a second opportunity to unsettle Roglic through Wednesday’s Phase 17 – possibly the toughest – including the Col de La Madeleine and the Col de La Loze, the maximum stage this season in 2,304 meters.
