It’s officially surpassed box office sales of the original film.
Sega Corporation has today confirmed that the Paramount Pictures film Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has now officially recorded global box office sales of $331,64 million – surpassing the $319.71 million sales record set by the original 2020 film.
This makes the blue blur’s second big-screen outing the “top-grossing” video game adaptation of all time. It follows on from the movie experiencing the biggest opening for a video game movie ever – grossing $72.1 million in the US within the first three days. The original banked $58.01 million in the same time frame.
