I’m not a great sales shopper, I’ll admit. I know some people who nail their purchases every time after hunting down some amazing worthwhile deals and I’m always envious of their talent. But I’m also wary that sale pieces (especially on the high street) can often be the trend-led styles left over at the end of the season and it takes some real digging to find the gems. Since I’m A) a classic anti-trend shopper anyway and B) trying to be more responsible and avoid impulse buying— I’ve resigned myself to the fact that high street sales aren’t always for me.
But every once in a while a really good one comes along— usually in the middle of the season and usually only for limited time— that includes not only pieces I already have on my wish list for the current season, but also those evergreen classics that never normally get discounted. Which just so happens to be the case for & Other Stories’ current 40%-off ‘Weekend Treat’ flash sale. Yep, you heard that right.
Jess wears the belted denim jumpsuit which is now 40% off.
I stumbled across it while doing my weekly new-in-section check this morning and *very nearly* scrolled right past it. But the huge discount caught my eye, and then when I looked at the edit and saw how great it was (including a lot of classic summer items I’d been thinking about buying anyway) I knew this was one that I needed to share with you.
There’s plenty of spring and summer-ready pieces like mini-dresses, pretty tops and sandals which still have many months to be worn this year, as well as in the future. But there’s also some great classic jeans, light jackets (including that sellout shacket) and timeless knits to see you through so many seasons to come.
So, which pieces are truly worth buying, even without the discount, in my opinion? Keep scrolling and you’ll see the items I’ve added to my basket— as well as more classic pieces I would definitely recommend as being the opposite of impulse buys. Add them to basket and the discount will be applied at checkout. Happy sale shopping!
This is one of & Other Stories’ bestselling pieces of all time, like the similar blazer, it comes in a few different colours and regularly sells out. I’ve regretted not buying it before so I’m not going to make that mistake again.
These made it onto my list of the top 12 high street spring shoes this week and I was planning on ordering them anyway.
A black chunky sandal is a summer essential, but I’m yet to invest. These nod to some of this year’s trends but also have a classic quality about them, so I think they’re worth trying.
Denim blouses have had a hold on me for a while and I can imagine this one looking really cute tucked into other denim jeans.
I’m in the market for a pair of wide-leg ripped jeans in a lighter colour for summer— these are perfect.
After I saw Jessica Skye in this recently, it’s been on my wish list.
I’ve had my eye on this dress for a couple of years now (the brand keep bringing it back because it’s so good).
So pretty for spring! You’d pull this out ear after year.
I love wearing wide leg jeans paired with a blazer and pointed heels for work right now.
This is made from more sustainable RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) wool.
This would be in my basket… if I didn’t already own it. Trust me, it’s the cosiest jumper and perfect for throwing on during chilly British summer evenings.
A classic spring jacket.
A great ‘nice top’ to go with jeans for all occasions.
A sandal your wardrobe will thank you for (they’ll go with everything).
If you dare to bare (your midriff) this could be a great wedding-guest option.
A classic, cosy layer.
The cream version of these sandals will go with so many summer dresses.
Split-front leggings aren’t going anywhere.
A beautiful knitted dress option, and the tie-waist makes it really flattering.
So chic and versatile.
