Classic voices return with new gameplay.
Dotemu and Tribute Games have narrowed down the release window for the highly-anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Previously, the game was slated to hit some time this year, but it looks like pizza parties in the sun while kicking shell will be on the menu for many fans of the four turtles.
To accompany this announcement, IGN has shared some exclusive gameplay from Shredder’s Revenge. The video shows the game’s first two stages — Channel 6 Studios and the Streets of New York. TMNT fans will be very familiar with these, as Channel 6 is the studio where April O’Neil works in the 1987 cartoon. it looks like the perfect evolution of the classic games, with attacks reminiscent of those from the arcades, as well as brand-new combos and special attacks.
Keen fans will no doubt recognise something very special if they hear past the incredible music — the original voice cast from the 1987 cartoon has returned to voice the turtles. Cam Clarke (Leonardo), Townsend Coleman (Michelangelo), Barry Gordon (Donatello), and Rob Paulsen (Raphael) are all here, and together, they’re helping Dotemu and Tribute Games’ vision to recreate the feel of that very show. Let’s hope Renae Jacobs, Peter Renaday, and others can also join the rest of the gang for a big ol’ reunion.
