We can finally pack away our Michelin Man puffer coats, swap our chunky boots for Velcro-strap sandals and reacquaint ourselves with the magical, eye bag–covering joy of big sunglasses. This year, we have also found ourselves falling back in love with skirts, a wardrobe category that has played second fiddle to the dress in recent years.
Designers and high-street brands alike have turned their attention to the humble skirt in all its facets for spring 2022, which has manifested in a wide range of styles and silhouettes coming to the fore. Column skirts, slips, circle skirts, midis, minis, leather, denim… You name it; a brand will have created it. Well, we decided to give you a bit of a rundown of the four key skirt trends that we are personally backing for 2022. Plus, we shopped them out to give you a head start. Bring some ’90s spirit into your spring wardrobe with a column skirt. Just complete the full throwback look with a colour-match shirt.
While it never technically went away, the miniskirt seems to be having a particular moment in the spotlight this season. Our favourite styles come A-line in a thick wool or bouclé fabric.
