Nintendo President Reiterates That Switch Is “Just In The Middle Of Its Lifecycle”

Aims to avoid the year six dip and increase momentum.

There are plenty that crave updated hardware from Nintendo, but the current statements out of the company – alongside outstanding sales momentum – suggest it could be quite a wait. Add in the ongoing chip shortage issues that are impacting manufacturing and sales, and Nintendo is understandably focused on continuing its current Switch success.

In an earnings call company President Shuntaro Furukawa indicated that Nintendo sees the Switch as being mid-lifecycle, with a key goal being to avoid the year 6 slump that impacted previous successes like the Wii (as reported by Bloomberg).
