Way back in the ’90s, you couldn’t move for 2D fighting games from the likes of Capcom, SNK and Data East. The genre was one of the biggest draws around, and while one-on-one fighting games have enjoyed something of a fall and rise since then, they’re not quite at the insane level of popularity they were during the 16 and 32-bit eras.
Still, if you’re pining for some classic 2D fighting action in 2022, then you might want to take a look at FightNJokes, which has just arrived on the Switch eShop. It’s described as “a semi-humorous 2D fighting game created from original IP while taking a gentle poke at the more serious sides of Fighting Games”.
