The first look at gameplay from Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has been revealed.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was first unveiled at DC FanDome 2020, where a CG trailer introduced viewers to the chaotic Task Force X. Set to Outkast’s “B.O.B”, the bombastic trailer showed the team in battle as Metropolis burned, before realizing that their mission is to eliminate the Justice League. It’s a concept that has been previously explored in the comics but it’s one that will be fully fleshed out in the upcoming video game.
Since then, we’ve only gotten glimpses at the game’s characters, as well as a brand new trailer that arrived during DC FanDome 2021. However, with The Game Awards set to air tomorrow, our first look at gameplay has been revealed. The quick look at gameplay comes in the form of a GIF posted by Rocksteady’s creative director and co-founder Sefton Hill. The gameplay shows the Suicide Squad jumping off a rooftop ready to engage in battle.
It’s unclear what Rocksteady will debut at The Game Awards but it’s likely we’ll get a brand new trailer that puts the focus on gameplay. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is gearing up for release as it’s currently set to hit store shelves sometime in 2022. It’s a safe bet to assume that we’ll get a release date or at least a time frame as to when the DC game will be released during tomorrow’s Game Awards live stream.
Here is the synopsis for Rocksteady Studios’ last game, Batman: Arkham Knight:
In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.
