Spider-Man Star Tom Holland Playfully Disses Anthony Mackie’s Upcoming ‘Captain America 4’

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has playfully dismissed and dissed Anthony Mackie’s upcoming solo stint as Captain America.

Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie’s off-screen “rivalry” has been a joy for Marvel fans to witness over the years. The two have exchanged retorts back and forth over the year, dissing one another in the most hilarious ways. Their most favorite jab came when Mackie revealed that he hadn’t seen Spider-Man: Homecoming at ACE Comic Con 2018. Holland then retorted with the fact that he hadn’t seen a Falcon film, which obviously didn’t exist.

Now that Anthony Mackie has become the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America, it looks like Tom Holland should eat his words. After all, Mackie is set to grace his own live-action film as the star-spangled hero in the coming years. Instead of eating his words, Tom Holland playfully dismissed Mackie’s upcoming solo stint as Captain America 4 in a chat with ComicBook.com, saying that the star’s only solo project to date was a two-man lead with Sebastian Stan.

“He hasn’t gotten his own movie yet. He got a TV show, but he didn’t get his own movie. It’s also called The Falcon AND the Winter Soldier. It’s not called The Falcon.”

Is the Spider-Man star eating his words now that Anthony Mackie is finally getting his own movie? Nope!

“I saw that online, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, Anthony Mackie! Tom Holland’s eating his words!’ I’m not eating my words. There isn’t a Falcon movie!”

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
