Dwayne Johnson has graced the cover of Total Film magazine as Black Adam.
One of the most anticipated films coming out of DC’s upcoming slate is the Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam. One of the most powerful heroes DC has ever produced, Black Adam has been a passion project for Johnson, over the last decade. After years of trying to get the film right, the project has now completed production and has entered a stage of heavy post-production.
Details on the film are slim, though the footage we saw at DC FanDome proved that Dwayne Johnson wasn’t messing around when he said that the DC Extended Universe would forever change. The short footage from the film’s opening moments painted Black Adam as a vengeful, powerful foe who could quite literally obliterate his enemies. Even though the film is quite a ways away, Johnson is just getting started when it comes to promoting his DC debut.
For their 2022 movie preview, Total Film magazine has enlisted Dwayne Johnson to grace the cover as Black Adam. Johnson is wearing the character’s signature hood and lightning fills his eyes. A neat touch is the Total Film logo being doused in lightning. Johnson’s tweet about the cover also features a direct quote from the anti-hero, which should get fans ready to witness the character’s debut later next year.
In addition to Dwayne Johnson, the film stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in undisclosed roles. Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions are producing the movie with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. FlynnPictureCo’s Scott Sheldon serves as an executive producer.
Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the highly-anticipated Dwayne Johnson film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
