Merchandise from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gives us our best look yet at Marvel newcomer America Chavez.
Doctor Strange is set to have a few insane adventures in the coming year. Returning in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the good doctor will join forces with Spidey to take on some of the character’s most nefarious villains from the multiverse. Months later, the character will return for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which, as the title suggests, will burst apart the multiverse. Details on the upcoming sequel are slim, though we do know that Doctor Strange won’t be alone in his journey to wrangle the multiverse.
Joining Doctor Strange will be fellow sorcerer Wong and Scarlet Witch, who we last saw in WandaVision. Newcomer America Chavez will also be folded into the mix, though it’s unclear how she factors into Doctor Stange’s adventure. Regardless, we look forward to the mystical character’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Though the Doctor Strange sequel has been delayed and is currently undergoing reshoots, merchandise from the film is slowly trickling out into the public’s eye. A new LEGO set for the film shows the team fighting “Gargantos”. In addition to seeing a LEGO take on the characters, the film’s promotional logo features the best look yet at America Chavez. Interestingly, Scarlet Witch isn’t part of the LEGO set, which is lifted from an action sequence from the film.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will be seen next in Spider-Man: No Way Home:
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is umasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.
Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17, 2021, while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for May 6, 2022.
