Tom Holland has commented on reports that suggest a new Spider-Man trilogy is in the works.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to hit cinemas in less than a month. One of the most anticipated films of the year, the Spidey threequel is set to wrap up the trilogy that began with 2017’s Homecoming. As No Way Home entered post-production, it remained uncertain if Tom Holland would return to the role of Spider-Man in the future. The British star recently made comments that expressed enthusiasm about a return, casting doubt about Spider-Man’s future.
Just yesterday, veteran Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal announced that Tom Holland would be returning to the role for another trilogy. Though no official announcement was made from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures or Tom Holland at the time, it seemed clear that Pascal wasn’t joking around.
Now, Tom Holland has commented on Pascal’s new trilogy comments, and while he doesn’t explicitly confirm a new trilogy is in the works, he sure does skirt around it. Holland’s comments came about while speaking with French talk show Quotidien.
“Listen, all I’ll say is we have some very, very exciting things to be talking about. I don’t know what those things are or what they will transpire to mean. But it looks like it’s an incredibly bright future ahead, and as I’ve said before, Spider-Man will forever live in me.”
Details are likely under wraps because plans for the new trilogy might not be far along. Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to be a reset for the character and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it will be the first time we see the multiverse completely unleashed. The multiverse provides endless possibilities, enough to round out another trilogy.
