The viewership numbers for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner was 40% down from Loki‘s debut.
There’s no doubt that the Marvel Studios shows on Disney Plus have been a huge hit for the streamer so far. Hawkeye is the latest to come from Marvel Studios and will run for four more weeks on Disney Plus. The new series finally explores Jeremy Renner’s Avengers in a standalone adventure that also introduced Hailee Steinfeld to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop.
When it comes to viewership numbers, Samba TV shared via Deadline that the premiere for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye scored 1.5 million households from Wednesday to Sunday. 1.3 million homes watched the second episode of the Marvel series that dropped on the same day. The five-day figure for Hawkeye is down 40% from Loki‘s premiere, which pulled in 2.5 million households. Hawkeye‘s debut is also behind Loki‘s season one finale, which brought in 1.9 million.
Here is the synopsis for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye:
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.
