The international teaser for The Matrix Resurrections features brand new footage from the upcoming sequel.
We’re returning to The Matrix this Christmas. After a nearly two-decade wait, Neo and Trinity are bringing us back to the source with this year’s The Matrix Resurrections. Details are slim on the upcoming sequel and the last trailer left us with more questions than answers – not that we’re complaining. It was great to see Neo and Trinity back together, even if we don’t know how exactly that’s possible considering where the last two films left us at.
Their return seems all the more jarring with a brand new international teaser for The Matrix Resurrections. Fresh off the heels of the new poster, the teaser features brand new footage from Lana Wachowski’s fourth (and first solo) entry in the franchise. While most of the new footage is quick shots of action, the most important bit happens right at the beginning and it’s literally mind melting.
Yup. That’s Trinity’s (presumable) source code melting right in front of Neo. The other new bits of footage shows Neo and Trinity in action throughout the film’s various action sequences. Seeing as the film is just a little over a month away, we’re likely due for another trailer in the coming weeks, if not days. Hopefully, we’ll figure out just HOW they’re going back to The Matrix.
